Soyun Kang, conductor

Ms. Soyun Kang is the Artistic Director and Conductor of the Heavenly Voices Choir. She has been an
active force in choral music for the past 21years. Ms. Kang received her BA in Music at UC Davis, and
MM in Choral Conducting at Cal State University of Long Beach with an honor of the most outstanding
graduate from College of Arts and Phi Beta Delta. She has been fortunate to have the opportunity to
study with Albert J.McNeil, Jane Hardester, Lynn Bilefelt, Robert Page, John Alexander, and Charlene
Archibeque. Ms. Kang has taught conducting, voice, sight singing, chamber singers, women’s choir,
community choir at CSULB (1996-2000) and El Camino College in Torrance (2004-2007). She also served
as a choir director at Davis Korean Church (1990-1992), Torrance First Presbyterian Church (1992-
2004), and Mission Community Church (2004-2007). After moving to San Jose, she has served Korean
Emmanuel Presbyterian Church (KEPC) conducting children’s choir and directing musicals (2007-2010).
Presently, she directs Hosanna Choir at KEPC (since 2012) and Heavenly Voices Choir (since 2010).
